Writer’s Digest is now accepting entries for their 23rd annual Self-Published Book Awards contest. If you’ve self-published a book in the last year or so, you might want to consider entering this writing contest.

The grand prize winner gets $8,000 in cash, a trip to the Writer’s Digest Conference, a guaranteed review in Midwest Book Review, and a long list of other prizes. Nine first place winners will receive $1,000 as well as several other prizes.

Entry categories for your self-published book include:

  • Mainstream/Literary Fiction
  • Genre Fiction
  • Nonfiction
  • Inspirational (Spiritual, New Age)
  • Life Stories (Biographies, Autobiographies, Family Histories, Memoirs)
  • Children’s Picture books
  • Middle-Grade/Young Adult books
  • Reference Books (Directories, Encyclopedias, Guide Books)
  • Poetry

Early Bird Deadline is April 1st (no foolin’). Final deadline is May 1, 2015.
